Kimley Horn

Ocala, FL

We transformed a 7,700 square foot space on the fourth floor of a 105 year old solid brick building in the heart of downtown Ocala. This first class instructive office space was constructed from start to finish in just ten weeks. The space is for the Civil Engineering firm, Kimley Horn who currently has 80 offices throughout the United States. There are many unique features which lend this project with the state of the art status. Occupying the entire fourth floor, Kimley horn has exclusive access to the floor via an access card reader located on the elevator.

When the doors open, you are not brought into a hallway, but directly into the office space of the company. With the building constructed of solid brick and plaster, we were able to bring some of the interior walls back to their original brick, a reminiscent look back to the buildings original construction. The fourth floor has windows on all sides, giving a beautiful, panoramic view of downtown Ocala in every direction.

The entire space is illuminated with high efficiency LED lighting and the HVAC ductwork is hung below the ceiling to allow for maximum ceiling heights. All offices have floor to ceiling glass walls, complete with soft close doors. This highly efficient work space with top of the line features allow everyone there to enjoy a comfortable and dynamic work environment.

We are a preferred builder for Kimley Horne and have completed 5 of their recent offices in Central Florida.

Stentiford Construction was selected last year to manage the renovation of our downtown office space for a professional engineering and planning company. The project was very challenging; we need to transform a 7,700 square-foot of tired and dated space located on the top floor of a 105-year-old solid brick building into a first class professional office for engineering staff. There were known challenges at the onset of the project and we found a few surprises along the way, as you might expect from an old downtown building.
Stentiford was both professional and knowledgeable. Together we set a challenging but achievable schedule. They staffed the job appropriately from the very beginning and got off to a fast start. During construction, they kept up with milestones schedule dates. We decided midstream to drop the HVAC ducts below the ceiling for a more urban feel, and Stentiford handled the change with a minimum interruption to the job. Contract issues were dealt with professionally, and we appreciate the fact that their tradesmen subcontractors were also professional and did high-quality work. We never felt like we had to manage Stentiford’s subcontractors in anyway.
In the end, we moved into our space on time, and were extremely pleased with the results. Engineers are perfectionist by nature, but we struggle to find anything at the end of the job that needed correction. I can recommend Stentiford Construction without reservation for any building renovation, or similar, project in the North Central Florida area.
Sincerely,
Richard V. Busche, P.E., Sr. Vice President
